Other Frequently Asked Pricing Questions
Q: Why does a heat treatment cost so much?
A: There are a few factors that go in to high prices:
1.) Equipment costs are very high. It is around $15,000 to get the set of equipment we have, but some cost even more!
2.) It’s a very difficult job. The tech needs to be compensated accordingly, as he needs to be aware and alert for hours, while going into blistering temperatures for short bursts to ensure heat is being distributed properly. Sometimes it requires 2 technicians and a full day!
3.) Supply and demand. While we are doing your house, we cannot do another house.
Q: Can I extend my Warranty?
A: Yes, we offer warranty extensions for 20% of the cost of the treatment. We reserve the right to add or subtract up to 10% off the cost for the extension. We offer this because, while not likely that you will get them again, we’ve found that consumers want the extra protection. We typically will extend the warranty for 2-5 years, depending on the needs of the customer.
Q: Is a 90 day guarantee long enough?
A: Bed bugs can live for up to a year without eating. Humans can live up to 7 days without water, but would not drink if we had an endless supply? Bed bugs are the same. They can go a long time without food, but they won’t if they don’t need to. We have found 90 days to be sufficient, but bed bugs are crazy and sometimes unpredictable, so we can increase the guarantee if you would feel more comfortable with that. It will be $100-300 more to increase the guarantee most likely!
